Our experienced Quality Inspectors (QC) monitor each order from start to finish to guarantee both the quality and timely delivery of our products.”

When it comes to stone products, their quality consists of three key components.

Part A: Defects in Natural Stone, which is related to the natural traits of the stone itself.

Part B: Finishing of the Stone, along with the craftsmanship involved.

Part C: The method of packing or the materials used for packaging, including options like wooden crates, Iron crates, wooden bundles, polybags, etc.

Part A:

And additional flaws specific to particular stone varieties.

Part B:

Stone Finish
and Workmanship

Quality Control Standards of BOLQA Stone Group

1. Chips or broken edges on the visible surfaces of the products are unacceptable. Our company will never approve any repairs using cement, glue, or similar methods on these exposed areas.

2. For tiles or cut-to-size pieces, it is essential to ensure that the corners maintain a precise 90-degree angle. Additionally, both diagonals of the tiles or cut-to-sizes must be equal.

3. The flatness of stone tiles or cut-to-sizes must adhere to the following tolerances:

– For lengths up to 400mm, the flatness tolerance is +/-0.2mm.

– For lengths between 400mm and 1000mm, the tolerance is +/-0.5mm.

– For lengths of 1000mm or longer, the tolerance is +/-0.8mm.

4. When beveling or chamfering edges, all four edges of the tiles/cut-to-sizes must be consistently finished. Uneven chamfering, where some edges are larger or smaller, is not acceptable.

5. Polishing Quality: Uniform polishing is required across all slabs and tiles, measured using a photometer:

– For black slabs/tiles, a polishing measurement of +95 is required.

– For colored slabs/tiles, a polishing measurement of +85 is required.

Grinding wheel marks must not appear on polished or honed surface

6. For flaming, bush-hammered, or chiseled surfaces, uniform application is crucial. If any areas lack sufficient flaming, they must be flamed again. Other surface treatments must meet similar quality standards.

7. Scratches are strictly prohibited, especially on polished surfaces; they are also unacceptable on flamed, bush-hammered, or chiseled surfaces.

8. About size tolerance for thickness:

– Slabs must have a tolerance of +/-1.0mm. – Tiles are allowed a tolerance of +/-0.5mm.

For Length and Width:

A tolerance of +/-0.5mm is permitted for both tiles and slabs (this does not apply to random edge slabs).

9. For non-exposed sides, such as unpolished areas of slabs/tiles, at least a flat cut is required.

10. All stone products, including tiles, slabs, cut-to-sizes, steps, etc., must be cleaned thoroughly on all exposed surfaces. Since they are considered “commodities,” it is essential to ensure cleanliness prior to shipment.

11. Free Allowance Policy: For raw slabs with uncut (rough) edges on all four sides, we typically provide free allowances. For Iranian slabs, this standard allowance is 5cm in both length and width. this may vary based in each stone, please consult us prior to placing an order.

Part C:

Packaging
Method and
Materials to Use

Quality Control Standards of BOLQA Stone Group

1. The packaging should consist of robust, seaworthy wooden crates, pallets, bundles and Iron crates.

2. Wooden crates or bundles must be protected from rain. In various countries, including many European nations, the USA, Canada, and Australia, regulations stipulate that wooden crates and bundles must be free of pests, and exposure to moisture can introduce these pests. We can also perform fumigation on the wooden crates and issue an official certificate of fumigation.

3. Wooden crates or bundles must be devoid of insects and bark.

4. When loading containers, generally, we place only two layers, stacking one crate on top of another. It is typically not recommended to add a third crate on top of the first two to create three layers.

5. For excessively long crates or bundles, ensure additional wooden supports are used to prevent damage to the stones and enhance the strength of the crates and bundles.

6. During packing, polished surfaces should face other polished surfaces to avoid scratches.

7. After placing stones into crates or bundles, secure them with strong plastic or metal strapping to reinforce the wooden structures.

8. The design and external dimensions of crates and bundles should be practical to maximize the number that can fit within a single container, optimizing spac usage and minimizing ocean freight costs for our customers.
